The SS018 is a ductless split wine cellar cooling system with a separate fan-coil and remote condenser, rated at 2,800 BTU/h and built to hold a wine room at 55°F to 58°F. It requires no ductwork.
The SS018 is exclusive in that its fan-coil can be installed two ways: surface mounted flush against the racking, or through-the-wall for a flush-mounted look from inside the cellar. The condenser installs separately where venting is easy, so the system suits small cellars with no room for mechanical equipment and no ability to run ducts.
Every system ships with a coated evaporator coil, a Wireless2Base remote interface controller, aluminum chassis with corrosion-resistant, commercial-grade components, and Wine Guardian fail-safe protection. With the optional serving-temperature control the system can cool as low as 45°F, and an optional humidifier reaches 55% to 65% relative humidity. As an authorized Wine Guardian dealer, we list the SS018 with full manufacturer specifications; installation requires a qualified contractor and final sizing should be confirmed with the Wine Guardian cooling calculator.
| Feature | What it means for your cellar |
|---|---|
| Ductless split design | Separate fan-coil and remote condenser install in different locations with no ductwork at all, fitting cellars where ducts are impossible. |
| Surface or through-the-wall mount | Exclusive to this unit: the fan-coil hangs flush against racking, or installs through the wall for a clean flush look from inside the cellar. |
| Compact fan-coil | The small footprint fits within racking or above a doorway, so it disappears into the cellar. |
| Perfectly paired condenser | The condensing unit is engineered and manufactured by Wine Guardian to work specifically with the fan-coil for reliable matched performance. |
| Coated evaporator coil | Protects the evaporator side against corrosion for durable performance over a long service life. |
| Wireless2Base remote interface controller | Monitors temperature and humidity continuously and corrects conditions before your wine is affected; place it outside the wine space if preferred. |
| Precision control (±1°F / ±10% RH) | Holds 55°F to 58°F, with optional serving-temperature control down to 45°F and an optional humidifier for 55% to 65% relative humidity. |
| Low-ambient protection | Standard low-ambient protection keeps the system running in cold conditions; optional Xtreme low-ambient protects down to negative temperatures. |
| Field-serviceable, tool-free access | The grille and panels remove without tools for in-field service, so the unit does not return to the factory. |
Built-in protection: remote air sensing checks conditions continuously and adjusts before temperature or humidity drift can affect the collection.
Wine Guardian does not publish a single decibel rating for ductless split systems. The quiet comes from the split architecture: the noisy condenser installs separately, even outdoors, while only the fan-coil sits mounted flush to the cellar, so no compressor runs inside the wine room.

Accessory availability and pricing are confirmed on each live product page. A ductless split uses no ductwork, so no duct collars or flexible ductwork are required.
