The D088WC is a self-contained, water-cooled fully ductable wine cellar cooling unit built to hold a wine room at 55°F to 58°F with a rated capacity of 9,600 BTU/h at 80°F ambient.
This is the water-cooled configuration of the D088: instead of venting heat into the surrounding air, it rejects heat through a water loop, which suits installations with limited ventilation, high ambient temperatures, or noise-sensitive locations. The unit is sized for mid-sized residential and commercial wine cellars and storage rooms holding roughly 850 to 4500 cubic feet.
Every unit ships with a coated evaporator coil, a Wireless2Base remote interface controller, an aluminum chassis with UL-rated composite panels, and Wine Guardian fail-safe protection. As an authorized Wine Guardian dealer, we list the D088WC with full manufacturer specifications so you can compare and size it correctly. Final sizing should be confirmed with the Wine Guardian cooling calculator and a qualified contractor.
| Feature | What it means for your cellar |
|---|---|
| Self-contained ducted design | All components (evaporator, fans, compressor, condenser, controls) sit in one unit outside the cellar, so the wine room stays quiet and clutter-free. |
| Water-cooled heat rejection cooling | Rejects heat through a water loop instead of cellar air, ideal where ventilation is limited or ambient temperatures run high. |
| Coated evaporator coil | Protects the evaporator side against corrosion for durable, reliable performance over long service life. |
| Wireless2Base remote interface controller | Monitors temperature and humidity continuously and corrects conditions before your wine is affected; place the controller in a kitchen, den, or elsewhere. |
| Precision control (±1°F / ±10% RH) | Holds wine-storage conditions of 55°F to 58°F, with an optional humidifier for 55% to 65% relative humidity. |
| Aluminum chassis with UL-rated composite panels | UL-rated composite panels are roughly five times stronger than before and resist dents and scratches during shipping and installation. |
| Field-serviceable, multi-panel access | Panels, duct collars, and grille remove with a couple of screwdriver turns, so service happens on-site without returning the unit to the factory. |
| Optional bundles and humidification | All Wine Temperatures, Extreme Climate Protection, and Ultimate bundles add heating, low/high ambient protection, and serving-temperature control as your space requires. |
Built-in protection: the system continuously checks conditions through remote air sensing and adjusts before temperature or humidity drift can affect the collection.
Wine Guardian does not publish a single decibel rating for ducted units, because the most important noise factor is placement: the D088WC installs outside the wine room and connects through insulated ductwork, so the compressor and fans are not in the space you occupy.

Accessory availability and pricing are confirmed on each live product page. An integrated or freestanding Wine Guardian humidifier can be added to reach 55% to 65% relative humidity.
